Richelle auditions and remains on the troupe. She tries to persuade Kate to give some of the current dancers guaranteed spots, to no avail. Richelle is outraged when she learns that she and the other current J-Troupers must re-audition for the troupe. Richelle auditions for A-Troupe and makes it past the first cut, but does not make it onto the troupe. Richelle originally did gymnastics, but started dancing when one of her friends did.
Despite being favourite to win, Richelle returns to The Next Step Dance Studio and competes with them in the finale in an attempt to avoid being tied to manipulative judge Maria.
In an attempt to make a name for herself, Richelle leaves A-Troupe last second and qualifies for Dancemania as a soloist. With Noah’s help, she finally breaks through her emotional barrier at Regionals. Richelle returns from the hospital even more determined to be front row and centre, but when she is repeatedly panned for important dances in favour of Summer, she discovers that she struggles to emote naturally. Desperate to prove she is still an important member of the team, Richelle refuses to acknowledge a serious pain in her hip so she can keep her featured role in the qualifier routine, and as a result ends up in the hospital and diagnosed with snapping hip syndrome. Despite her vocal disapproval of their rival, TNS West, Richelle is instrumental in the plan to merge the teams after they are both pulled out of that year’s Regionals however, as a result of A-Troupe reforming, she loses her dance captaincy to Noah. įollowing The Next Step's loss at Regionals, Richelle makes it back into A-Troupe, and is made dance captain after it is reformed into TNS East. She puts her name forward to be dance captain at the first opportunity, but loses the role to Skylar. She later moves up to B-Troupe before finally making it into A-Troupe, becoming increasingly determined to be the best dancer at The Next Step. Richelle is initially a thriving J-Trouper whose greatest aspiration is to be dance captain. She is a former member of Step Inside, A-Troupe, B-Troupe and J-Troupe, as well as the former dance captain of The Next Step Dance Studio.
Briar Nolet Richelle is an acro, ballet, contemporary and jazz dancer, who is currently a professional dancer in Los Angeles.
